NEW SERMON SERIES - FAITH - what it means to have faith - can we live without faith?

Faith is a way of life; faith gives us the power to hold on in tough times. Romans 1: 17 reads For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith '. Hebrews11:6 reads And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Can you recall when FAITH led you through a difficult time?

Does having faith means we won't have problems? In Romans 5:3-5 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; (4) perseverance, character; and character, hope.(5) And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Our problems actually shape us and build our faith.

How do we apply our faith? Transformation - allow ourselves to be transformed. Faith means we do not judge. Do we continue to have faith after we leave worship service?

How can we build the kingdom? One step at a time. In our daily lives, we set goals. By setting spiritual and Godly goals we keep focused, we have direction, we move forward. Without goals we can become directionless. Do we strive to bring heaven to earth?

In Romans 12: 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

How do we become more like Christ? Love one another. Practice our Faith. Set Godly goals. Depend on God for our strength to achieve goals.

How do we put our faith into action? Jesus commanded us, "Come to me." "Follow Me". We continue working towards our goals. Don't give up. Reach out to people - begin in our neighborhoods, our communities, our schools, our workplaces, anywhere. Be comforting, loving, and Christ-like. Jesus commands is to make disciples of all people
